Job Purpose:

Provide wide-ranging administrative support in Hornbill School’s Reception and to promote the core roles of the school within the community.

Duties to include:

  • To be administrator of all Hornbill Schools web platforms;
  • To organise the whole schools Public Relations through the Hornbill Gazette and Dojo;
  • Answer front office telephone calls and pass on messages to Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and teachers;
  • Answer queries from parents regarding school events, trips, dates and timings;
  • Monitor and record child attendance using the pupil database Bromcom;
  • Track absent children and notify SLT and teachers promptly;
  • Receive and record leave requests for children and notify parents of SLT decision;
  • Monitor school bus registrations through online platforms;
  • Provide first aid during school break times;
  • Operate secure access system within Reception;
  • Issue temporary security passes to all visitors;
  • To capture life of the school through various media platforms;
  • Arrange meetings between individual SLT members, teachers and parents;
  • Assist SLT with preparation of school assemblies and graduations and photograph these events;
  • Escort parents and visitors to and from pupil/parent events and meetings;
  • Collate, track and print annual school reports by liaising with class teachers and members of the SLT;
  • Prepare spreadsheets to record the receipt of return slips and payments from parents pertaining to school events, trips, residentials, after-school clubs and music lessons;
  • Monitor and replenish stock of internal school forms and pupil reward certificates;
  • Sell school uniform / swimming badges to parents, record receipts and monitor stock, advising Purchasing Officer when stocks are low;
  • Provide support to HR & MIS Officer.
